Announcements
For Sunday, April 13, 2008

Community Kitchen
Community Kitchen at Broadway United Methodist Church is an all-around blessing--it feeds the hungry, it is ecumenical, and it gives us a chance to live out our calling as servants in Christ's name. If you would like to help us serve a nutritious lunch at BUCM on April 27th, please speak to Ruth Richerson.
Book Club
The Market Square Coffee Book Club will be discussing The Year of Living Biblically by AJ Jacobs on Monday, April 21st at 1 p.m. Come join in!
Pastoral Relations Committee
Our Pastoral Relations Committee will gather next Sunday after worship. Please feel free to speak to a committee member about concerns or kudos you have regarding our pastor's ministry. Committee members are Eileen Ehrhardt, Mike Hasty, Gene Katterjohn, Linda Randles, Jane Ruggles, and Karen Winkel.
First Responders
We have first responders prepared to step in should a medical emergency occur before, during, or after worship. They are Don Hodgson and Linda Randles. Phones are located in the kitchen and the church library. A first-aid kit is kept on a shelf in the cloak room.
Dinner and Games!
Game Night and Chili Dinner will be held on Friday, April 18th in Fellowship Hall. We will start at 6:00 p.m. but come whenever you can for lots of fun and games. Sign up sheet will be at Info Central.
Refreshment Hosts Needed
April refreshment hosts are needed! The sign up sheet is in the kitchen.
Summer Camp Info
IKC Summer Camp information is in the church office.
Looking Ahead
The next movie in the Maiden Alley Faith in Film series is Jurassic Park, sponsored by First Presbyterian on Monday, April 14th at 6:30 p.m. An optional discussion will take place immediately afterwards. Tickets are $3.00 and film-goers are invited to bring donations to benefit PCM.
Save These Dates!
Our church yard sale is slated for Saturday, August 9th. The Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon has been scheduled for Saturday, November 22nd. Please support both events in the form of donations and volunteer service. All proceeds will go to the General Fund.
As Easy As Breathing
During December, a few of us met on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. to quiet our minds and bring peace to our spirits during a busy holiday season. This time turned out to be so delicious we decided to continue on. Part of our time is devoted to "resting in scripture," using an approach that is both gentle and rewarding. The remainder of our time is spent in prayer for ourselves and others. Do join us!
Faith In Film Series At Maiden Alley Cinema
Four local congregations (ours included) are sponsoring secular films with faith themes on the second Monday of each month from march through October. The cost is $3.00 plus any offering of food or cash to benefit PCM. Grace Episcopal Church is hosing the March 10th 6:30 p.m. screening and discussion of Chocolat. Support this series by attending. And by passing the word along! (Other films include Jurassic Park, Cider House Rules, Whale Rider, Simon Burch, Places in the Heart, Dead Man Walking, and The Fisher King.)
Ministering To Shut-Ins
Our Board of Deacons is looking for those who feel called to care and listen as we reach out to our shut-ins and members weve been missing. If you would like to volunteer for this essential ministry, please speak to Betty Esselstyn
A Gentle Reminder
Even when you're not with us in body, your spirit is felt when you fulfill your promise of weekly or monthly giving made last fall during our season of stewardship. If circumstances have changed and you need to readjust your estimate of giving for this year, please communicate with Phil Ehrhardt, our financial secretary.
Offering Envelopes
Offering envelopes for 2008 Look for your box of weekly giving envelopes on the round table in the Fellowship Hall this morning after worship. Dont see a box with your name on it? Tell Phil Ehrhardt and hell gladly see that you receive one.
Be A Stamp Sponsor
If you've ever missed a Sunday, you know how beautiful it is to find a worship bulletin in your mailbox during the week. Our Deacons welcome donations of stamps (or cash for purchase of stamps) for this purpose. See John and Betty Esselstyn for details.
